Everything you need to know about AccBook
⚠️
AccBook is manual — not connected to your bank
All balances, expenses, and income shown in AccBook are based only on what you manually enter here. AccBook does not sync with your bank account, credit cards, UPI apps, or any third-party platform. If you don't log it, it won't appear.
🚀
Getting Started

AccBook tracks your personal finances — expenses, income, and credit cards — all in one place. It's designed to give you a true picture of your money, not just a list of transactions.

Start by adding your monthly income, then log expenses as you spend. The dashboard will show your real bank balance and what's owed on your credit cards separately.

📊
Dashboard
🏦 Bank Balance
Your actual bank balance — income minus everything you paid directly from your bank (debit card, GPay, UPI, online transfer, cash). Credit card spends are NOT deducted here since the money hasn't left your bank yet.
💳 CC Spend this month
Total amount charged to your credit cards this month. This money hasn't left your bank yet — you'll pay it next month. The chip appears on the dashboard as a reminder of what's coming.
📈 Progress bar
Shows how much of your income has been spent from your bank this month. Turns red if you go over 100%.
➕
Adding Expenses

When adding an expense, the Payment Method is the most important field — it determines how the expense affects your balance.

💳 Credit Card Goes to CC spend. Does NOT reduce your bank balance. You'll repay next month.
🏧 Debit / 📲 GPay / 📱 UPI / 🏦 Online Reduces your bank balance immediately.
💵 Cash Reduces your bank balance. Tracked separately in analytics.
💳
Credit Cards

Add your credit cards under Settings → Add Income & Credits → CC Cards. Once added, they appear as options when you select Credit Card as the payment method.

When you pay your CC bill, log it as an expense with category CC Payment and the payment method you used (GPay, Online Transfer etc.). This correctly deducts from your bank balance.

The dashboard shows CC spend by card name so you always know which card has how much pending.

🗂️
Categories

AccBook comes with 15 default categories — Food & Dining, Transport, Groceries, Utilities, and more. These are locked and cannot be deleted.

The CC Payment category is special — it's used when you pay your credit card bill. It's pre-marked as a repayment category so it doesn't appear in your spending breakdown.

The Investments category is highlighted on the dashboard — your monthly investment amount appears as a green chip on the balance card so you can track it at a glance.

You can add your own custom categories from Settings → Categories. You can also set a monthly budget per category — AccBook will warn you when you're close to the limit.

💰
Income & Credits

Add your monthly salary, freelance income, or any other credits from Add Income & Credits in the menu. Income is tracked per month so your balance is always accurate.

The dashboard shows your income source — whether it's salary only, or salary + other credits.

📈
Analytics & Reports
📊 Analytics
Monthly spending trends, category breakdown, payment method split, and smart insights. All charts exclude CC spends so the numbers reflect actual bank outflows.
📈 Month Compare
Compare any two months side by side — total spend, category breakdown, and payment methods.
📅 Year Summary
Full year overview with a heatmap, top categories, best and worst months, and monthly savings rate.
📁 Reports & Export
Export your data as CSV or PDF for any date range. Useful for tax filing or sharing with your accountant.
🔄
Recurring Expenses

Set up expenses that repeat every month — Netflix, rent, insurance, EMIs — from Recurring in the menu.

AccBook reminds you on the dashboard 1 day before the due date, on the due date itself, and up to 3 days after if not logged.

Expenses are never logged automatically — you always confirm, edit, or skip the reminder. This keeps your records accurate.

🔍
Search

Description — type "Swiggy" to find all Swiggy orders
Amount — type "649" to find all ₹649 transactions
Category — filter by Food, Transport, Groceries etc

⚙️

💳 Credit Cards

📅 CC Bill Due Dates

💱 Currency
Change the currency symbol from the Settings page. Defaults to ₹ (Indian Rupee).
🔒 Password
Change your password anytime from Settings. You'll need your current password to update it.
💡
Quick Tips

💡 Set up Recurring Expenses for fixed monthly spends — you'll get a dashboard reminder instead of forgetting to log them.
💡 The description field has autocomplete — start typing and previous descriptions appear as suggestions.
💡 Set a monthly budget on categories — a red "OVER" badge appears on the dashboard when you exceed it.
💡 Tap the ? icon at the top right anytime to come back to this guide.
💡 The app works offline as a PWA — install it on your phone for quick access without opening a browser.
💡 Use Search to find any transaction instantly by description, amount, category or payment method.
